SERVICES
Primal Reflex Release Technique (PRRT)
PRRT uses reflexes in the nervous system to “reset” oversensitive nerves and release tight muscle patterns. Developed by John Iams - a physical therapist with over 50 years of experience - Primal Reflex Release Technique ™ (PRRT) is performed with the client fully clothed. An assessment is done by feeling for areas of tension or pain that are then treated by tapping on tendons or specific points to stimulate a relaxation response.
PRRT is…
Orthopedic Sports Massage
Orthopedic Sports massage is designed to restore normal function and pain-free range of motion combining the latest exercise science research with traditional bodywork methods. The client is dressed in shorts and a t-shirt to allow contact with the skin, but to allow movement on the part of the client. The client is not passive, but involved in the session as there will be assessment, range of motion tests, stretches, and self-care exercises.
Neuromuscular Therapy(NMT)
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) was primarily developed by Dr. Janet Travel. As a cardiologist and the White House doctor from 1960-65, Travel was instrumental in developing the concept of trigger points. Although performed like traditional massage therapy – with the client disrobed and covered with proper draping – the goal is specific treatment of muscles and tendons to relieve pain and restore the normal function of muscle. Contrary to popular belief, NMT is more effective when performed without pain, and can be quite relaxing.
Corrective Exercise and Self- Care instruction
A big part of corrective body work is you! Once problem areas have been identified, clients are given specific stretches, exercises, or self-care regimens to help encourage and maintain the corrections made in the session. Our goal is to give you the power to have pain-free motion within 3-4 sessions, not lock you into a long treatment plan.
